I’m still reeling after the weekend. How could I have forgotten that I live in one of the most beautiful places in the USA? I spent 80% of my summer in different states so this weekend was truly a reminder of what a playground Oregon is. That you can take off without a plan and land in literally a magical place is incredible. No signal. No crazies. No stress. The last couple of weeks (or months really) have been pretty  hectic so when himself asked ‘What do you want to do this weekend?’, my immediate thought was, switch off. Flowers, Films and Food in PDX

Portland Rose Garden

This weekend was a busy one! I got to see and do quite a few things I’ve wanted to check out since I got here and managed to squeeze them in to two days! I know I’ve said it before, but there is so much going on all the time it’s hard to get bored. One of the things I got to catch was the Alberta Street Fair that happens annually. There are sooo many stalls of arts and crafts, food and music. It’s a lot of fun looking at all of the pieces that are displayed and feeding off the atmosphere!


Portland is know as the city of Roses so of course I had to go check out the Portland Rose Garden.  I had been there once before but it was raining, a bit grey and getting dark so I wasn’t given the full experience. I took advantage of the beautiful weather and set off to go see what they were all about. It was so beautiful! There were so many different types of roses and the garden layout is overlooking the city of Portland. Just stunning! There’s also an amphitheater where they hold summer concerts so the place is always buzzing. Continue reading “Flowers, Films and Food in PDX”
